‘Game of Thrones’ Star Lena Headey Seeks Vengeance in New Poster for Brutal 80-Minute Thriller [Exclusive]

Day in and day out, we are all forced to make decisions. Whether they’re low stakes, like picking what to have for breakfast, or high stakes, like sinking hard-earned money into a purchase, every decision is important in its own way. So, what better concept to use as the foundation for a thriller than a decision that changes everything for the protagonist? That’s precisely how multihyphenate creative Chad Faust went about penning his sophomore feature-length directorial project, Ballistic. Starring Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Amybeth McNulty (Stranger Things), the pulse-pounding film centers on one woman’s quest to make things right after her world is flipped upside down. Today, as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview event, we’ve got a new peek at the film’s poster, which features the five-time Emmy Award-nominated actress in her latest high-octane role.

Dropping the Game of Thrones alum back into the role of a mother who would do absolutely anything for her child, Ballistic centers around Nance Redfield (Headey), a woman who works for an ammunition manufacturing company. While she spends her days assembling instruments of war, her son is abroad fighting in one as a soldier serving in Afghanistan. Tragically, the young man loses his life for his country, which in turn hurls Nance into a pit of despair that eventually grows into a seed of anger. That seed quickly sprouts and plants roots after she discovers that the bullet that took the life of her son was one that came from her factory — setting her on a spiral when she’s forced to look at the decisions that got her to this point.

No stranger to heavy performances, Headey will undoubtedly fit right into the leading role in Ballistic. Our exclusive new look at the film’s poster sees the actress fully embrace her latest character, as she dons a black beanie, holds a gun, and takes aim at an unseen target. With intensity in her eyes, it’s clear the troubled mother is on a path towards vengeance for what’s been taken from her.

What Else Has Lena Headey Been Up To?

In the several years since Game of Thrones came to an end and Headey bid adieu to one of the most brutal characters television has ever seen, the actress has had her hands full of one project after the next. In addition to Ballistic, she’ll soon welcome another action-packed thriller to the fold with the April 17 release of Normal, in which she stars alongside Bob Odenkirk and Henry Winkler. On the small screen, she recently paired with Gillian Anderson for Netflix’s Western series, The Abandons, which was cancelled after one season.

Check out our exclusive peek at the poster for Ballistic above and stay tuned for more to come from Collider’s Exclusive Preview event.
